Exactly
This makes me feel ways about things.
The District isn’t the problem.
I’m going to say that again, because it bears repeating: The District isn’t the problem.
The problem is that our political system rewards only intransigence, not compromise.
The problem is that some of our representatives turn their careers into cash, bought out by the lobbies.
The problem is that in response to that, other representatives decide to live in their offices instead of in their adopted city.
Go on ahead, politicians, break our economy by refusing to be grown ups and talk it out and come to a solution that no one will like, but everyone will accept.
Be grown ups.
I’d call my congressperson or senator to tell them this, but in DC, we don’t GET one. Each and every other state has at least 3, but our 600,000 people have none.
So, really, #fuckyouwashington people, take a look at yourselves for a second: this is all your fault.
